 Brian Kalsbeek (Executive Director)

Dr. Brian Kalsbeek has practiced Chiropractic for 35 years in Castro Valley, California. During that time he has served on the board of Follow Up Ministries, (a prison ministry) for two terms as well as serving on the board of Happiness Hill Pre School for 29 years and has been a member of the board of directors and executive committee of Neighborhood Church from 1986 to the present.

Brian’s father, Dr. Harry Kalsbeek inspired him to be interested in Missions as he made numerous round the world trips visiting missionaries when Brian was growing up.

In 1997 Brian made his first trip to Vietnam with World Serve Ministries and in the next 10 years he had traveled to Vietnam, China, Thailand and Burma on 25 different trips for World Serve.

In 2007 Dr. Kalsbeek went to Cambodia on a medical missions trip with a group from his church and was invited to join Malcolm Cash, who was serving on the board of TransformAsia, on a tour of their mission sites in Cambodia. In 2008 Brian joined TransformAsia as Executive Director and served in that capacity for 3 years making 11 trips to Cambodia.

In 2011 Brian, Malcolm and Dr. Wayne Gardner formed a new non profit ministry and elected Randy Odom as president of EQUIP Cambodia to provide life skills training, English and computer classes, and discipleship training to Cambodia’s marginalized and disadvantaged young adults in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

 

Malcolm Cash (Chairman)

Malcolm and Gloria Cash, both residents of Ohio, graduated from Toccoa Falls College, in Toccoa, Georgia, and served in two churches before going to Thailand as Missionaries in 1962.

They served in Thailand for 13 years before returning to California for Malcolm to serve as an associate pastor at the Neighborhood Church in Castro Valley.  After 5 years in the pastorate, they then moved back to Toccoa, Georgia to work for Habersham Furniture Co.  He worked there 3 years and then went to work for as the Director of the Annual Fund and Director of Enrollment.

In 1986, he was asked to go back to the Neighborhood Church in CA, as an associate pastor.

In 1994 they moved back to Suwanee, GA to plant a church where they worked with 3 different church plants in Gwinnett County, GA for the next 9 years.  In 2003 Malcolm retired from the pastorate.

In 2004 he made a trip to Cambodia with Gospel Musician, Bobby Michaels, where he was introduced to the desperate plight of the Cambodian people.  He then volunteered to work with an organization working in Cambodia for the next several years.

In 2007, Gloria unexpectedly went to be with the Lord.   During this time he also went back to Thailand in 2005, to work with the Tsunami survivors for the next 3 years making several trips to that area assisting these survivors that resulted in starting and building a new Christian church in Puk Ping, Thailand.

In 2011, he, Dr. Brian Kalsbeek and Dr. Wayne Gardner decided to form a new ministry to continue working in Cambodia.  In 2012, Rev. Randy Odom joined with them to form EQUIP Cambodia.

gordonGordon Lawrence

Gordon Lawrence has been a Welder at American Airlines for the past 28 years. He and his wife, Robin have known Randy Odom from the days of their church youth group in the ’70s at East Tulsa Christian Church.

Gordon has served in many capacities in the church, from Sunday School Teacher and Deacon at ETCC to Chairman of the Board of Elders at South Tulsa Christian Church. In addition to that, he and his wife  Robin served in the youth ministry while Robin was Children’s Ministry Director at STCC.

They have always had a heart for missions and in 2014 Gordon was asked to join the Board of Directors of EQUIP Cambodia. In May of 2015 Gordon travelled to Siem Reap, Cambodia to get a firsthand experience of the country and to see the work Randy and Krystal had started.
